I’m here!

Holy moly, it’s happening!

I’m at my hotel in Northampton this morning gathering my wits and getting my gear situated and am a wee bit nervous, giddy, and overall tingly all over.

I’m sitting amidst my luggage explosion which is all due to moving certain items around between bags to get said bags to acceptable weight and still able to close (insert “LOL” here… Seriously). I brought my own gear for the camping which I may go for renting said gear the next time around after this go… But alas, here I am and all set!

About my flight in… I took Delta’s new PDX to LHR (London Heathrow) nonstop overnight (9hrs 57m) and was (thankfully) able to sleep from 9pm to 2:30am PDT. Springing for the Delta Comfort Plus was well worth it, but was close enough to Business class to catch myself occasionally staring at it longingly.

Upon arrival at Heathrow and getting to the rental car offsite location I was told that there would be an hour wait for an automatic (a ton of Americans came in with me) and if I was able to take the stick-shift, they’d upgrade me… This was going to be fun. Sure, I can drive a stick, but on the left side… driving on the left… Oy, talk about the longest 2hr drive to Northampton! Just a lot of concentration, so to say the least… When I got to the hotel, I sought out food and watched some Friends until 5:45pm GMT and then crashed!

Now it is morning… You read the bit above… Luggage… Explosion… Now it’s time to go eat some breakfast and take a shower before starting this business.

’til later
